Injured Dachshund

We have another injured dog at the shelter.  A male red dachshund about 2 years old.  He may have been hit by a car, or had some other accident.  Dr Sells looked at him and says he suspects a slipped disk.  Will probably need to be taken to K State for repair.  His hold time is up Saturday at 5 pm.  He will probably be euthanized if not reclaimed due to his injuries, although I did get him to eat and drink today (Friday)

In case anyone cares, I took the injured Dachshund to KState on Saturday.  Hearts United for Animals in Auburn, Ne agreed to pay for his medical treatment and take him into their facility for rehab and rehoming.  At last report he suffered a broken pelvis in two places and some internal bruising, but is expected to make a full recovery.

Glad to hear the little dog got the help he needed.

Too bad his owner didn't have the decency to claim him. Surely he'll end up in a much better place.
