It's here.  Not a whole lot of snow involved, but what there is of it is traveling horizontally.  The winds are gonna be our problem, not to mention the negative single digit temps tonight and tomorrow night.  Bundle-up and hold on to 'yer hat!  Brrrrrrrrrrrr!

And don't forget to bring your pets inside!

Good advice about the pets. They may be wearing coats, but single digit temps can't be tolerated.

Related to winter cold, where can I find a pair of gloves that actually keep my hands warm. I've tried the ski type, but my hands sweat and therefore get cold. Tried leather with Thinsulate and they're not any better. What's the secret??

Karl, I don't own a pair, but I found this on a search:

Like you, I never seem to find a satisfying pair of gloves.  Now, I'm kinda interested in a pair of these for myself!

I've had a few pair made with Thinsulate in the past, but never really "bonded" with them.  I've been told that mittens are more effective than gloves (at keeping hands warm), but then you have about 0% dexterity!  It's all about "trade-off", I guess.

@Lou - Thanks
These look interesting. For roughly $40 they're certainly worth a shot.

I really want to maintain dexterity so mittens are out.

If mittens are indeed warmer, they do make the kind that fold over, so to speak, revealing your fingers for those times when you need a bit more dexterity.
