The SWKTalk.com forums are open to everyone. Unfortunately, that means we occasionally get spammers, trolls, hackers, malware authors, and other "baddies." They may masquerade as a Forum Admin or pose as a security expert. And they'll make a post about some "virus warning" or "security update required" or something like that.

These people will include a link in their post for you to click and "install this security patch" or "install this software to scan your system", you get the idea.

Don't be duped!! These programs will infect your system, possibly send sensitive data to the spammers, force you to pay for antivirus software that really does nothing, etc.

If I, or one of the Moderators of the Forum, post a warning you'll easily know it's us. Our profiles state Admin or Moderator (NOT our forum alias).

If you see one of these spammy messages PLEASE report it using the "Report to Moderator" link that's in each post. I try to watch for these guys, but they still get through. You can help too.
