This is a great feature to post photos of our pets (like some folks have done).

Bird, is the "Who, Me?" photo of a chihuahua?  Mary and I have one, looks very much like your doggie.  I just can't tell exactly if it's a chi from the angle.

I'll see if I can round-up a photo of our (slightly overweight) pooch who's slightly spoiled.

Lou:

Yes, that's our Chihuahua mix Birdie. She's also in the photo with the football.

We got her at the local shelter; they said she may be a Chi-Pug mix, which would make her a Chug!

Looking forward to seeing your pooch in the gallery!

LOL!

A "Chug"!  I love it!

Very cute indeed.  I'll bet she's not "spoiled" either.     Smiley

Mary and I would adopt every animal in the shelter, if only we could.  Our female chi, Lucky, was sort-of adopted.  She belonged to an elderly friend of our who became hospitalized and quickly passed away.  But before she did, she asked us to take Lucky (she knew we'd give her a good home).  Lucky was a pup then, and she's 7 now.  Great dog, good friend and a real guard dog!

Now that's a very Lucky dog!

You may have already seen it, but if not the blog in this site, "Paws A While," has great information about the local humane society and its work with the animal shelter.

All dog and cat lovers should check it out!

Thanks for posting that link, Bird.  I just checked it out.  It's very touching, indeed.

Believe it or not, my employer matches (dollar for dollar) a donation for any approved organization.  We make our choice by January 1st each year, and the company will match an employee's chosen dollar amount.  2009 is the second year I've made the Finney County Humane Society my choice.  It's a payroll deduction system, and I'm glad to help out a bit, financially.  I know the volunteers do a great job with our homeless friends.  Like I said, I wanna bring 'em all home.

Wow, that is a great idea regarding the dollar-for-dollar match. Your choice is a very good one, especially with the new animal shelter in the works.

They have so many needs in taking care of all the shelter dogs and cats. It's heartbreaking to know how many good pets are in need of a home.
